New to the club this season is a program to encourage more sponsors to come on board the Riverside Cricket Club. Any member who managed to secure a new sponsorship over $500 will not have to pay any fees. So if you know someone that might be interested in sponsoring the club in any way, contact Tim Money (timmyem@hotmail.com 0409973713) and he will sort you out. Girls Team News Kate Ryan has decided to move on from Riverside. We wish her all the best and thank her for her contributions over the past couple of seasons. Kerry Johnson and Nicky Callinan have been appointed co-coaches (no I don't have a stutter) so we wish them all the best for season 2010/11. Dromana Cricket Camp The annual cricket camp was held over the last w/e. Plenty of fun was had on the Friday night (especially by Donny and Rags) before the serious stuff on the Saturday morning. Some dune running and sprint work was on the cards before a leisurely game of golf, with players competing for the prestigious (and slightly smelly) green jacket. The winner was Nick Dalton who was handicapped into the win. Some more fun was had at the Dromana Hotel before an early start at the picturesque Tootgarook cricket club. Thanks to Gibbo and Daniel Walker for organising things and running the show. It was a fantastic weekend and everyone should definitely try and get there next year! Another boy for the Riverside family! Congratulations to Rick and Zanthe Bohan who had a boy on Tuesday 17th August - Fynn Dean Bohan, weighing in at 10.5 pounds. Mother and baby are doing well and the Sack is back! Another Father/son selection! Congratulations to Captain/Coach Scott Gibbs and his wife Kerryn on the safe arrival of their second boy - Rory Lindsay Gibbs - born 8:48pm on Monday 2nd August weighing 4.14kgs. Mum and baby are great. Apparently he already has bigger hands than his Dad!
Winners are grinners! Check out this video on youtube of the A grade boys celebrating a big win http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT4DBDIfqa4 More babies on the way! Congratulations to former player/sponsor/barman Shane "Keefa" O'Keefe and his wife Erica on the announcement that they are expecting twins! Well done guys and good luck with all that nappy changing Keefa.
RAY MONEY PAVILION RE-DEVELOPMENT The works on the re-development of our pavilion and facilities are continuing and will hopefully be completed and available shortly into our season. For a sneak peak of how it will all look click here. For photos of the re-development in progress, have a look at the Ray Money Pavilion Re-development link on the left. WELCOME TO DANIEL WALKER The Club is pleased to announce that Daniel Walker has agreed to play with us this season. Daniel is a 25 year old who has played the past 7 seasons in Premier cricket with Frankston-Peninsula and Northcote. He is a right hand batsman and left arm medium bowler. He played in Northcote's 2nd XI Premiership in 2006/7 and last season made around 400 runs @ 40 and took 25 wickets @ 22. Please make him feel welcome as we push to improve on last season's results. AGM MINUTES For those so inclined the minutes of the 65th AGM can be viewed by clicking here. The incoming committee for season 10/11 is as follows: President: Paul Bohan Senior Vice-President: David Hyland Junior Vice President: Mat Doyle Treasurer: Martyn Anderson Secretary: Daniel Hoyne Assistant Secretary: Patrick Collins
General Committee: Liam Money, Luke Morgan, Tom Money, Tim Edgell, Kathryn Ennor, John Miles, Shane Doyle, Stephen Bowler & Tim Money. Congratulations to all and thankyou for taking on the task of running our great club. Special thanks also to outgoing President Nick Ellks who has worked tirelessly over the past 3 years to ensure that Riverside remains a leader in the DVCA, the VWCA, and the community at large, and also to everyones favourite barman, Steve "Sick-boy" Doyle, who after 5 years of continuous service has decided to step down from committee duties. Make sure you come and visit our new bar for a drink Sickie!!! |
